Shotgun Cove

Just 5 miles from Whittier is a large cove. We access its waters by charter boat. You'll start your day with basic instruction on sea kayaking within the confines of this sheltered area. The 5 hour trip involves kayaking along the shore back to Whittier at a leisurely pace and exploring several small coves including Emerald Cove. A light lunch is provided. Departs at 1:00 pm.

Blackstone Bay

Join us for a day of sea kayaking in the ice of Blackstone Bay. This is our most popular paddling destination. This is a perfect Prince Willliam Sound kayak tour for people with a limited amount of time. Our day will start with a charter boat ride from Whittier to a beach near the head of Blackstone Bay. We will paddle through the ice floe with harbor seals and numerous sea birds to keep us company. You and your guides will have the opportunity to safely paddle in the glaciated areas of Blackstone Bay while you explore it's natural beauty.

The sights and sounds of the actively calving glaciers from the unique viewpoint of our ocean kayaks will indeed be the highlight of your trip! Along with safe and beautiful paddling, Blackstone has some short hikes to offer. Weather and time permitting, we can hike along side Lawrence Glacier for an "up close" look or hike to the top of Willard Island to enjoy one of the most spectacular views in the Sound. This trip is rife with wildlife photo opportunities from eagles to otters and more. A hearty lunch and snack is included. At the end of our paddling day we will be taken by charter boat back to Whittier, a perfect day trip from Anchorage. Departs at 9:00 am.
